Release Notes

About the release

Presenting a preview of both Distrib performing work, but also, a simple application for testing processes without having to write a bunch of code.

What is this I'm actually using?

This is a simple application showing Distrib
  1. Loading an assembly using the bespoke plugin framework
  2. Loading and managing a given process plugin (the workhorses of Distrib)
  3. Presenting a simple interface allowing you to invoke a given process and supply inputs and see the resulting outputs.

How to use

Launch the application, and select the assembly in the "Example Process Assembly" directory.
  1. Choose an assembly
  2. Click initialise
  3. Pick a valid process plugin
    1. Usable plugins are shown as green, the "Use Process" button becomes enabled if the selected plugin is a process
  4. Click to the process tab
    1. Enter the inputs you want to try the process with
    2. Click "Perform Job"
    3. Wait for the outputs to be shown

Can I make my own processes to try?

Yes! Download the latest stable source code (check the commit comment), compile and just write your own process - The example processes in the 'TestLibrary' project should be enough to get you started.

Requirements

  • Vista and up (Windows 7 and up recommended)
  • .NET 4.5
